Ohoopee Match Club

A course designed for match play, a course within a course, and greens within greens. Ohoopee is a novel creation by architect Gil Hanse and founder Michael Walrath.

The course is set on the rural, sandy soils of south Georgia, about an hour outside of Savannah. It’s designed to be strategic and reward high-risk shots, likely when players are down in the match. You’ll need to make your way there between fall and spring, as the course closes during the summer heat.

The club’s slogan is ‘no one cares what you shot’ which feels appropriate for a match-play focused course. The “whiskey routing" is a four hole course within the course. The extra holes are perfect for when players want to keep their match play bets going.
